Description

The Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and a trusted adviser to the CEO and Board.

This is a broad and influential leadership role for an executive who enjoys contributing beyond the finance function. You will bring commercial insight, strategic perspective and sound judgement to organisational decision-making while ensuring strong financial stewardship, governance and risk management.

Leading a small team, you will balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution, shaping long-term priorities while remaining close enough to the detail to drive outcomes and support day-to-day operations.

As Metro Housing continues to evolve, the CFO will play an important role in supporting organisational growth, continuing financial sustainability, enhancing reporting and decision-making capability, and helping the organisation navigate future opportunities with confidence.

Working closely with the CEO, Board and executive team, you will influence strategy, challenge thinking, provide clarity around complex decisions and ensure resources are aligned to the organisation's long-term priorities and purpose.

The Candidate Profile

Metro is seeking a commercially astute and values-led finance leader who can balance strategic thinking with practical execution. You may be an experienced CFO seeking a purpose-led chapter, or a senior finance leader ready to make a lasting impact on the communities Metro serves. You bring the credibility, judgement and leadership capability to support organisational growth, financial sustainability and community impact.

Key Requirements

  • CA/CPA qualified with significant senior finance leadership experience
  • Experience partnering with executive teams and Boards
  • Strong financial stewardship, governance and risk management capability
  • Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on when required
  • Commitment to Metro's values and social purpose
