ABOUT THE COMPANY

A leading automotive dealership group with over 30 years of success is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive team. Operating 9 import-brand dealerships and generating over $600 million in annual revenue, the company is entering its next phase of growth under second-generation leadership.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The CFO will oversee all financial operations, working closely with the ownership team, General Managers, and department leaders to align financial strategy with business goals. This individual will lead the accounting and finance teams, ensuring financial efficiency, risk management, and regulatory compliance across all locations.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• CPA strongly preferred; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management required.
• Prior public accounting experience, ideally working with automotive industry clients.
• 10+ years of experience as a CFO or Controller within a multi-location automotive group, family-owned business, or large dealership network.
• Expertise in Dealer Management Systems (Reynolds & Reynolds or Tekkion).
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and financial data integration from external platforms.
• Strong ability to interpret financial reports, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

• Financial Leadership: Oversee financial operations for the dealership group, including affiliated real estate holdings and ancillary businesses.
• Strategic Collaboration: Partner with ownership and leadership teams to develop and execute financial strategies.
• Team Development: Lead, mentor, and train accounting teams to foster collaboration, process improvement, and accountability.
• Operational Efficiency: Implement cost-saving initiatives and optimize financial performance across all locations.
• Risk Management & Compliance: Maintain strong accounting controls to mitigate risks of fraud, theft, and compliance gaps.
• External Relations: Manage relationships with CPA firms (GAAP compliance, tax strategy), legal counsel, financial institutions, and payroll/insurance vendors.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations, including tax filings, OSHA, FTC, Department of Labor, and Motor Vehicle Administration requirements.
