Job Description The Opportunity We are seeking a commercially driven and strategically minded CFO with hands on mentality to lead the financial agenda of a globally operating Business Unit within a listed industrial group. Partnering closely with the Business Unit CEO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping strategy, driving performance, and delivering sustainable value creation in a complex, international environment. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Value Creation Act as trusted advisor and sparring partner to the BU CEO on all financial and strategic matters Define and execute the financial strategy aligned with overall business objectives and shareholder expectations Lead strategic initiatives including portfolio optimization, investments, and growth programs Full ownership of M&A activities, from evaluation and execution to integration/separation Performance & Financial Steering Drive transparency and performance management through robust KPI frameworks and business reviews Identify and deliver margin improvement, cost efficiency, and cash optimization initiatives Ensure disciplined capital allocation and value-based decision-making Financial Planning & Governance Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and mid-term planning processes Ensure high-quality reporting to Group and senior stakeholders Maintain strong governance, compliance, and internal control standards Capital, Liquidity & External Interface Manage liquidity, cash flow, and capital structure within Group guidelines Engage with banks, investors, and financing partners to secure funding and optimize financial flexibility Organization & Leadership Lead, develop, and transform an international finance organization Foster a high-performance culture and strong cross-functional collaboration Act as key interface to Group Finance, Executive Management, and external stakeholders Qualifications Candidate Profile University degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience in an international industrial or manufacturing environment Proven track record in strategic finance, business partnering, and transformation Strong M&A experience and capital markets exposure is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to operate in complex, matrix organizations Personal Attributes Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen Decisive, resilient, and comfortable operating under ambiguity Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at executive level High level of cultural awareness and international leadership capability Reporting Line Reports to the CEO of the Business Unit (Global EVP BU) Functional reporting to the Group CFO Other High willingness to travel Fluent German and English (negotiation level) Additional Information Why Join This is a high-impact leadership role offering the opportunity to influence the strategic direction and financial performance of a key Business Unit within a global organization.
