We are a family oriented HVAC and Fireplace company in residential and commercial new construction, retail and wholesale. Reporting to the President, this role is primarily responsible for managing the financial systems, operational procedures and internal controls.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA or equivalent CFO experience
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience for a small to midsize privately owned company.
  • Departmental and organizational financial statements, budgets, financial and operational reporting
  • Accounting, Corporate Finance, Reporting Skills
  • Accounting for construction industry will be considered an asset

Responsibilities
  • Preparations of monthly and yearly departmental and corporate financial statements, including a report highlighting variances with explanations
  • Lead and educate departmental management as on financial and operational matters
  • Lead interdepartmental billings
  • Lead and encourage operational and departmental systems and improvements
  • Review and approve the month end process, review and execute journal entries and GL analysis
  • Audit and Monitor internal controls
  • Review GST, WCB, payroll and all regulatory filings
  • Oversee T4’s for payroll
  • Monitor all accounting functions AR, AP, Payroll, Banking, and GL reporting and tax compliance
  • Processing year end and producing year end file for the accountants
  • Cost and profit margin Analysis
  • Cash flow projections
  • Liaise with bank, insurance company, benefits and group RRSP plan, WCB, CRA when required
  • Coordinating of US wire transfers for US vendors and foreign exchange management
