Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Commercial Property Insurance Start-Up

Our client is a newly formed commercial property insurance carrier (backed by a large international insurance group), specialising in mid-to-large commercial property risks, condo associations, hospitality, and specialty occupancies. They are building a lean, technology-enabled operation that prioritises underwriting discipline, financial strength, and long-term sustainability.
As they are growing, they are now seeking a hands-on, strategically minded CFO to shape their financial future and play a pivotal role in building a resilient, profitable insurance carrier.

What You’ll Do

• Lead financial strategy, planning, and capital management to support growth.
• Establish robust financial controls, reporting systems, and compliance frameworks.
• Oversee regulatory reporting and investment strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Partner with the CEO and leadership team to drive profitability, efficiency, and sustainability.
• Manage relationships with regulators, auditors, investors, and reinsurers.
• Build and lead a finance team, setting high standards for performance and accountability.

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years proven track record as a CFO or senior finance executive in P&C insurance, reinsurance, or financial services.
• Deep knowledge of statutory accounting, GAAP, and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong background in capital raising, reinsurance structures, and investment oversight.
• Hands-on leader, comfortable working in a start-up or high-growth environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence at board level.
