Position Summary As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Chief Financial Officer serves as the Club’s senior financial strategist and hands-on financial steward. This influential leader provides vision, integrity, and accountability across all areas of fiscal management, including accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, treasury management, and long-range financial planning. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the General Manager, Board of Directors, and Finance Committee to shape financial strategy, policies, and operational goals aligned with the Club’s vision and long-term growth. Financial Reporting & Planning: Prepare, review, and present accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly and annual statements, budgets, forecasts, P&Ls, and financial models. Treasury & Risk Management: Oversee cash flow, investments, debt strategy, insurance programs, and compliance to safeguard assets and optimize financial performance. Oversight of Accounting Operations: Lead and supervise accounting staff and membership administrator to ensure efficient billing, collections, reconciliations, and data integrity. Capital Planning: Direct capital budgeting, cost analysis, financial modeling, and long-range asset planning in support of facility improvements and infrastructure investments. Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to GAAP, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and Club bylaws; oversee audit processes and risk mitigation practices. Technology & Systems: Champion financial technology enhancements, including system upgrades and software implementations that improve reporting, analytics, and decision-making. Member Relations: Serve as the senior point of contact for member billing inquiries and financial transactions, ensuring exceptional professionalism and service. Human Resources Collaboration: Participate in benefits planning, retirement plan fiduciary responsibilities, and payroll-related financial oversight. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management (with a finance emphasis); plus ten years of progressively responsible experience in financial management within a country club, hospitality venue, or similar setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Active affiliation with relevant professional associations to stay current in the profession. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Jonas Club Software, POS systems, and other industry-specific financial platforms at an intermediate or higher level. Strong attention to detail, organizational discipline, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency. Preferred Qualifications Ten years of experience as a senior financial leader (Director of Finance, Controller, or CFO) in a country/golf club, hotel, or hospitality environment. CPA accreditation.
