ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is a well-established, nationally recognized not-for-profit organization that provides high-quality services across the National Capital Region and beyond. They are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the Executive Team. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as Treasurer to the Board of Directors, the CFO will oversee finance, accounting, payroll, and contracts & analytics, while ensuring compliance, strong governance, and long-term organizational sustainability.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide financial leadership to the CEO, Board, and senior management to support decision-making and organizational strategy
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting across the organization and its subsidiaries
  • Oversee contracts & analytics, ensuring compliance with federal contracting requirements and supporting corporate planning through accurate analysis
  • Safeguard assets through strong internal controls, risk management, and treasury oversight
  • Ensure financial policies, systems, and practices meet professional and regulatory standards
  • Lead, coach, and develop senior finance managers and teams to build organizational capability and succession planning
  • Collaborate with peers, auditors, regulators, financial institutions, insurers, and government stakeholders
  • Represent the organization in negotiations with government departments, benefit providers, and major partners
