Context Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director General (Management and Reform), the Chief Information Officer (CIO)/Director, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) will be responsible and accountable for the strategic leadership and overall direction to all ICT Divisions/Units and drive governance of IOM’s global information technology systems and tools across the span of its activities and operations. The CIO and Director will also serve as the principal advisor to senior management on technology, Artificial Intelligence, digital assistance services and data, including on strategic, architectural, governance and operational matters. The CIO and Director will devise and implement IOM’s overall strategy on information technology in support of the IOM’s core mandate and its member states and ensure ongoing alignment with the organization’s strategy while encouraging continuous improvement across the ICT Divisions/Units and the technology community of practice in the field. The incumbent will ensure that ICT focuses on enabling the organization through new and innovative digital technology while not losing focus on the traditional ICT responsibilities that support the infrastructure and world-wide operations. The CIO and Director will be responsible for translating business strategy into effective enterprise change and an architecture technology roadmap. S/he will provide strategic and effective leadership to enable management of staff and budget for ICT and develop and enforce governance procedures and monitor progress of the strategic initiatives. The CIO and Director will also lead global ICT operations and service delivery, which ensure that IOM’s global business operations and processes stay up and running, and that IOM teams have systems access and can work in real-time regardless of location.
