Description The Chief Information Officer provides enterprise-wide leadership for information technology, digital transformation, data, and cybersecurity across the International Code Council. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the CIO is responsible for ensuring ICC’s technology strategy, investments, and risk management are tightly aligned with its strategic priorities, financial stewardship, and oneICC operating model. This role is both strategic and execution focused, leading ICC through a critical period of enterprise modernization, including ERP transformation, digital product expansion, data and AI enablement, and strengthened cybersecurity and governance. Essential Functions: Enterprise Technology Strategy and Governance Develop and execute a multiyear enterprise technology strategy aligned with ICC’s strategic plan and financial objectives. Partner closely with the executive team on technology investment prioritization, capital planning, and ROI measurement. Establish strong enterprise IT governance, including project intake, prioritization, and benefits realization. Develop and maintain IT Operating Model that facilitates operational and strategic goals. Provide clear reporting to executive leadership on technology operational status, performance, risk, and investments. Digital Transformation and Enterprise Platforms Partner with business unit leaders to establish and prioritize application portfolio governance to continually manage, assess and optimize enterprise platforms, including ERP, CRM, data, and digital content systems. Drive integration across ICC entities and acquired businesses to enable a unified enterprise architecture. Modernize business processes through automation, standardization, and improved system coordination and interoperability. Data, Analytics, and AI Enablement Establish enterprise data architecture, governance, and analytics capabilities to support operational and financial decision making. Enable responsible strategy, adoption, and implementation of AI and advanced analytics to improve productivity, forecasting, product offerings, and customer experience. Ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance across all systems and platforms. Cybersecurity, Controls, and Risk Management Own enterprise cybersecurity strategy, including data protection, identity and access management, monitoring, and incident response. Partner with Finance, Audit, Legal, and Compliance to ensure strong internal controls and regulatory compliance. Lead disaster recovery, business continuity, and resiliency planning, including regular testing and reporting. IT Operations and Service Delivery Partner with leadership to modernize end-to-end, client-facing service delivery workflows, leveraging automation, data integration, and AI-enabled tools to improve turnaround time, quality, traceability, and cost efficiency. Ensure reliable, secure, and cost-effective delivery of IT services across a geographically distributed organization. Oversee infrastructure, applications, cloud services, and vendor relationships. Establish and monitor service levels, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives. Financial Stewardship and Vendor Management Develop and manage IT operating and capital budgets in close coordination with the CFO and business unit leaders. Lead vendor selection, contract negotiation, and performance management with a focus on value and risk mitigation. Drive cost transparency, standardization, and disciplined technology spend across the enterprise. Leadership, Talent, and Culture Build and lead a high performing IT organization with clear accountability and strong leadership depth. Strengthen software engineering skillset and talent to support the growing portfolio of digital products and services. Develop talent, succession plans, and a culture of customer service, innovation, and collaboration. Strengthen cross functional partnerships across the organization. Performs other related duties as assigned Requirements Essential Skills and Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. 15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise IT leadership, including senior executive roles. Demonstrated success leading large scale ERP and digital transformations in complex, multi entity organizations. Strong experience with cybersecurity, data governance, analytics, AI implementation, and cloud-based platforms. Proven ability to partner with executive leadership teams and Boards on investment decisions and risk oversight. Experience in mission driven, membership, standards based, or professional services organizations is a plus.
