The Position The University is looking for a dynamic person of high caliber to take up the position of Chief Information Officer and be responsible for the overall management of Information Technology Office (ITO). The appointee will report to the President via Vice President (Administration and Corporate Development). His / her major duties and responsibilities are as follows: Advising senior management and institutional leadership on strategic IT directions to enhance teaching, learning and administrative effectiveness; Developing and implementing comprehensive IT strategies, policies, budgets, and workforce plans that align with the University’s goals and objectives; and expanding its capability for digital transformation through the use of technologies and AI; Leading the strategic planning, implementation and lifecycle management of enterprise systems to support institutional needs; Directing the deployment, security and continuous enhancement of campus IT infrastructure and facilities, championing process re-engineering and workflow automation to improve administrative operations; Driving initiatives to elevate the quality, responsiveness and overall delivery of IT support services across the University; Ensuring the integrity, security and optimal performance of all institutional IT systems, establishing robust governance and control frameworks; Keeping abreast of the latest trend of innovative technological developments and driving continuous maintenance and development of the University as a sustainable smart campus; and Performing any other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: A relevant recognized degree, preferably a higher degree, with substantial knowledge and experience in the field of Information Technology, Computer Science, A.I. or a related field; Substantial leadership experience in IT planning and management at a senior level, preferably within the higher education sector; Proven leadership capability in managing IT functions, driving organisational change and leading cross-functional teams; Extensive experience in strategic planning, development and implementation of IT infrastructure and information systems; Knowledge of the latest IT/IS/AI trends and advanced innovative technologies; Excellent stakeholder management, communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills; Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset; and Strong communication skills in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.
