REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to convey an image that is consistent with effective leadership and the Credit Union’s values
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams to meet goals and objectives
  • Excellent knowledge of lending products, credit underwriting, and portfolio management
  • Indepth understanding of lending regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices
  • Exceptional financial acumen and ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Ability to translate strategy into specific action plans. Ability to assign responsibility for carrying out action plans
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Track record of working with and maintaining confidential and sensitive member information
  • Proven experience working with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loan products and guidelines
  • Strong background in SBA lending and the managing of participation loans

Responsibilities

The Chief Lending Officer (CLO) is responsible for overseeing all lending operations within the Credit Union. This executive role ensures the development and execution of lending strategies, policies and procedures that drive profitable growth while managing credit risk. The CLO will work closely with the executive team to align the lending division’s objectives with the Credit Union’s overall goals, overseeing the performance of lending teams.
