ARE YOU AN EXPERIENCED CHIEF MAINTENANCE ENGINEER LOOKING FOR A PRESTIGIOUS HOTEL PROPERTY TO MANAGE?
We have an opening for a Chief Maintenance Engineer to join us at De Vere Wokefield Estate near Reading. De Vere Wokefield Estate has 376 bedrooms spread across 3 buildings including an iconic mansion house, 39 meeting and event spaces and 3 restaurants.
As our Chief Maintenance Engineer, you’ll lead a team of 15, including a Maintenance Manager, Supervisor, engineers, operatives, and painters. You’ll be responsible for the upkeep of all buildings and facilities, ensuring exceptional standards of repair, safety, and presentation.
This role combines hands-on technical knowledge, team leadership, and strategic project oversight. You’ll manage reactive and planned maintenance, liaise with external contractors, control stock, and oversee all M&E installations. Crucially, you’ll play a key part in maintaining the high standards our guests expect while ensuring full compliance with health and safety legislation.
