About This Role:
As a member of Forrester’s executive team, the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will lead a worldwide marketing organization at Forrester. This role is critical to Forrester’s revenue engine and keep Forrester’s brand strong and drive lead generation, this includes executing high impact, high-attendance events as the primary driver of those two goals. Our goal is to make our events must-attend moments that can drive executives and companies to become Forrester research clients. Powerful marketing is a critical element in moving Forrester toward that goal. As with all Forrester executive team members, the CMO will be an agent of progress, innovation, and change — energetically and proactively seizing opportunities for the company.
Job Description:
- Lead the marketing organization to brilliantly execute across all disciplines (public relations, corporate communications, demand generation, digital marketing, product marketing, events, marketing operations, creatives, and customer and market insights), with laser focus on demand generation.
- Drive a marketing agenda that propels the company’s strategy of dominating in the age of empowered customers.
- Ensure that we have a robust prospect audience at each of our events and run best-in-class profitable events that deliver exceptional experiences for our clients and drive leads.
- Integrate the marketing and events teams to create best-in-class events that deliver exceptional experiences for our clients, drive leads, and are profitable.
- Cultivate a strong collaboration with the chief product officer, chief sales officer, and their teams, contributing robust go to market strategies.
- Think “digital first” and partner closely with the chief technology officer to solve problems and connect to clients digitally.
- Develop, attract, and retain top marketing talent to create a culture of high engagement, collaboration, creativity, and high performance.
Job Requirements:
- Fifteen-plus years of business/marketing leadership within world-class global organizations known for their marketing strategy and operations. The ideal candidate must have led midsize to large global marketing organizations to high growth.
- Experience in B2B or B2B2C organizations.
- Experience in a CV or ARR model.
- Demonstrated success in implementing leading-edge marketing practices across the full marketing portfolio with a focus on demand generation, PR, events, and brand.
- The ability to work closely with the Forrester CEO. The ideal candidate must have a strong point of view and have the ability to defend proposals to the CEO. This relationship will be energetic and very productive.
- A proven developer of people: someone who can build strong, collaborative teams; develop successors; and keep high performers challenged and engaged.
- Experience in leading a team through disruption, change, and company acquisitions is a plus.
- A “technology-first” posture.
- Experience in leveraging events as a critical vehicle for demand generation is preferred.
