Description
Company Description The ideal candidate will lead marketing, brand, public relations and corporate communications for the client, in line with the Bank’s growth ambitions, customer strategy and regulatory obligations. The mandate is direct: grow active clients, measured by Monthly Active Clients (MAC) and Yearly Active Clients (YAC); strengthen how the brand is perceived; and build a modern marketing function that delivers measurable business results. Job Description Strategy and growth: Set and run a marketing and communications strategy built on customer insight and aligned to business goals. Advise executive management on market intelligence and competitive dynamics. Make marketing a direct contributor to customer acquisition, retention and product take-up. Ensure full compliance with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other relevant regulators. Brand and positioning: Act as custodian of the client’s brand in Nigeria, keeping it consistent and distinctive across every channel — branches, digital platforms and partners. Lead the work to strengthen trust and visibility, and to position the client as a leading financial-inclusion brand. Integrated marketing and product growth: Design and run multi-channel campaigns across digital, offline and experiential channels. Work with Product, Commercial and Operations to bring products to market, launch and scale them, and support them through their life cycle. This includes the Bank’s digital and payments products and its lending offer, where marketing is central to adoption. Corporate communications and reputation: Run internal and external communications. Lead media relations, public affairs and crisis communications to protect the Bank’s reputation. Keep communication with staff, regulators, partners and the public clear, consistent and timely. Position the client as a credible voice in financial inclusion. Digital marketing and performance: Build a data-driven digital marketing capability with clear measures across lead generation, conversion and customer value. Use analytics to improve campaigns and return on spend and support the Bank’s wider digital agenda. Team and budget: Build and lead a high-performing team. Organise the function to fit the Bank’s needs. Manage the marketing budget with discipline, for impact and efficiency. Work closely across business units to align and execute. Qualifications Degree in marketing, communications, business administration or a related field An MBA or relevant master’s degree is preferred Professional certifications in marketing, digital marketing, communications or brand management are an advantage 12 to 15 years in marketing, public relations, corporate communications and brand management, with a meaningful part in regulated sectors such as financial services, banking, fintech, telecommunications or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) At least five years at executive or senior leadership level, with direct board-level exposure and a role in enterprise-wide change A track record of leading integrated marketing and communications transformations that produced measurable growth, customer acquisition and stronger brand equity Experience working across more than one market, or within a multi-country group, with the ability to align local execution to a wider brand Depth in digital marketing, customer engagement, performance marketing, media relations, crisis communications and reputation management Strong understanding of the Nigerian market, customer behaviour and the financial-inclusion landscape Experience managing significant budgets, agencies and multi-channel campaigns, with clear accountability for results
