Job Summary
The Chief Innovations Officer is responsible for overseeing all clinical and quality improvement initiatives, integration of clinical services, emergency preparedness, and workforce development. This role provides guidance to health centers through implementing training programs, support on policies, procedures, and tool, as well as offering individual assistance, as needed, in order to support alignment with TACHC’s strategic plan and value-based care objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Provides oversight for the Innovations Department and serves as a member of the Leadership Team.
· Collaborate with the leadership team to develop organizational goals and strategies for achievement.
· Works with the TACHC leadership team to clarify and communicate priorities in alignment with TACHC’s Strategic Plan, HCCN, CIN and ACO.
· Acts as clinician advisor for TACHC and staffs the TACHC Clinical Affairs Committee. Additionally, assists in coordinating the TACHC Clinical Committee and Advisory activities.
· Oversees all clinical integration programmatic efforts related to the TACHC Handbook, PI/RM functions, and quality initiatives, including the Quality Axis Program.
· Writes original grants for funding of new projects and for the renewal of funding, ensuring project goals are met and barriers to implementation are identified.
· Functions as the primary clinical lead on statewide workgroups, acting as a liaison between TACHC and various state and federal entities, as well as academic institutions.
· Provides clinical input and support to TACHC’s Technology and Data efforts, including the Health Center Controlled Network (HCCN) and data analytics for the Clinically Integrated Network.
· Presents on clinical continuous performance improvement and value-based care topics at national and statewide conferences.
· Plans and develops TACHC clinical conferences and learning events, series, and individual sessions on diverse topics.
· Supervises Quality Axis Program Director, while serving as faculty for the TACHC Quality Axis learning year, coordinating and presenting at learning sessions.
· Oversees the development and implementation of the TACHC BRIDGE Program, the Emergency Management team, and the Workforce Development team, including evaluation and continuous improvement of each program and trainings.
· Supports health center activities related to The Joint Commission (TJC) and Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) accreditation/recognition initiatives.
· Provides guidance to create, develop, and update policies and procedures related to clinical services in FQHCs.
· Through cross-departmental collaborations, engages in trainings and technical assistance for billing, coding, FTCA, and documentation matters pertaining to clinicians.
· Works with Policy Department to study ongoing and proposed legislative policy regarding clinical services, providing expertise and recommendations supporting TACHC’s legislative activities.
· Supports person-centered integration of care within TACHC and at health centers, ensuring safety, trustworthiness, and collaboration.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
· Experience with grant writing
· Strong project management skills
· Proficiency in developing and managing multiple projects
· Ability to speak publicly (virtually and in person)
· Proficiency in Spanish preferred
Credentials and Experience
· Clinical background with experience in health centers
· Primary care Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), or Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in clinical field
· Supervisory experience
· Preferred experience in Public Health, or Public Policy, or Health Administration
· Clear understanding and experience in value-based care
