JOB SUMMARY
We are currently looking for a Chief Medical and Scientific Officer to join our Science, Research & Innovation group.
This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. The role can be based at either 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf or our Science Campus in South Mimms, Hertfordshire. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas. We are open to requests for flexible working. Please discuss this with the hiring manager before accepting an appointment.
We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 8 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 12 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.

WHAT’S THE ROLE?
We are seeking to appoint to a new role of Chief Medical and Scientific Officer who will represent the MHRA to medical and scientific communities externally. You would be a prominent voice for the MHRA, working to promote the value of effective regulation and support the growth of the life sciences industry in the UK. As a Doctor of Medicine by background, the postholder will drive scientific excellence, lead our Science and Innovation group and shape the future of regulation through our science strategy, ensuring this aligns with all the scientific activities of the organisation. You will help secure further investment for the organisation, build partnerships and position MHRA at the heart of a thriving, future-facing life science sector. The global order that we have known is facing a period of rapid and unpredictable change.
