JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the overall clinical and administrative leadership of nursing services and related patient care across the organization (i.e., Emergency, Inpatient, Surgery, Pharmacy, Respiratory Therapy, and Staff Education). Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all age groups of patients ranging from neonate to geriatric. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in senior leadership planning and meetings. Assures competency of all nursing personnel. Assists in formulating the budget and maintains efficient and effective departmental operations while required compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations, laws, standards, and protocols.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN).
  • Must have and maintain a valid RN licensure from the state of MN or obtain within six months of employment.
  • A masters in nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive management experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Critical care nursing experience preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Chief Nursing Officer, Senior Vice President of Nursing or Vice President of Nursing preferred.
  • Experience with medical databases, working ability of word processing, and database applications preferred.
