Description The Chief of Staff serves as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to the President & CEO of the Dallas Symphony Association (DSA). Acting as an extension of the President & CEO, the Chief of Staff supports the execution of organizational priorities, drives alignment across senior leadership and Board governance, and advances institutional effectiveness. This role translates strategy into action, facilitates executive decision-making, and oversees complex, cross-functional projects and initiatives with staff at all levels throughout the organization. The Chief of Staff exercises significant independent judgment and represents the President & CEO, both internally and externally, as appropriate. Key Responsibilities Partner with the President & CEO and senior team to define strategic projects and priorities, and lead execution of initiatives. Facilitate collaboration, coordination, and alignment among senior leadership to ensure accountability and progress on organizational goals. Represent the President & CEO in meetings and initiatives as delegated. Support Board relations by coordinating executive-level Board materials and communications with Board Liaison. Lead high-priority special projects from concept through execution. Develop dashboards, KPIs, and briefings to track organizational performance. Serve as a central integrator of information and advisor on organizational issues. Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism. Requirements Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred. 8–10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience supporting executive leadership or enterprise initiatives. Demonstrated success managing complex, cross-functional projects. Strong understanding of nonprofit governance and organizational dynamics. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Experience in performing arts or cultural organizations is preferred. Working Conditions This is a salaried role with responsibility for outcomes rather than hours worked. Evening and weekend availability required. Hybrid work environment with significant on-site presence.
