Acting with the authority of the CEO, the Chief of Staff ensures alignment across executive functions, drives cross-functional initiatives, enforces decision discipline, and translates strategic intent into coordinated action. The Chief of Staff serves as a member of the Executive Team and operates as the organization’s central point of integration for enterprise initiatives. As a trusted advisor and member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief of Staff serves as the CEO's force multiplier—anticipating organizational challenges, removing barriers to execution, strengthening executive decision-making, and ensuring enterprise initiatives remain aligned with IndyGo's mission, strategic priorities, and Board direction. This position strengthens organizational alignment, accountability, and disciplined execution, enabling the CEO to focus on the agency’s highest-value priorities. The company will provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities, consistent with applicable law. * Ensure successful implementation of enterprise initiatives by translating strategic decisions into coordinated execution, resolving cross-functional challenges, and holding executive leaders accountable for agreed-upon commitments and timelines. * Serve as the CEO's primary integrator across the executive team by aligning priorities, anticipating execution risks, resolving cross-functional challenges, and coordinating enterprise action.  * Advise the CEO on significant organizational issues by elevating matters with appropriate context, options, recommendations, and awareness of strategic implications. * Strengthen executive team effectiveness by facilitating productive leadership discussions, coaching collaboration across functions, and partnering with the CEO to cultivate a leadership culture grounded in the agency's values and strategic priorities. * Support implementation and follow-through on IndyGo’s strategic plan and enterprise priorities by clarifying ownership, tracking commitments, and resolving cross-functional barriers. * Monitor enterprise performance and organizational health, identifying barriers and opportunities to strengthen leadership effectiveness and organizational execution.  * Coordinate follow-through on Board-directed actions and support executive readiness for Board and committee discussions, in partnership with the Board Clerk and responsible executives. * Use enterprise dashboards, KPIs, and performance reporting to identify execution risks, inform executive discussions, and support timely follow-through. * Support executive alignment and follow-through on major organizational changes, in partnership with responsible functional leaders. * Support the CEO's engagement with external stakeholders by ensuring internal alignment and strategic readiness. * Monitor legislative, regulatory, political, and public trends affecting the agency and advise the CEO on strategic implications. * Partner with Public Affairs to support executive communications, strategic messaging, and organizational alignment. Model integrity, sound judgment, discretion, and stewardship in all interactions. OTHER FUNCTIONS * Participate in Board meetings and strategic planning sessions. * Support workforce development and succession planning initiatives. * Perform other duties as assigned. The Chief of Staff drives execution through influence, convening authority, and alignment with CEO priorities rather than through direct reports. The role requires exceptional ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, coordinate executive-level action, and hold leaders accountable to enterprise commitments without formal supervisory relationships. Success in this role requires exceptional ability to influence senior leaders, build trusted relationships, facilitate alignment, and achieve organizational results without direct authority. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.
