Description
Who are we? ElectronX™ is the first U.S.-regulated, direct access electricity derivatives market, offering financial products to address volatile short-term price exposure to electricity. With offices in Chicago and New York City, ElectronX is building the missing financial infrastructure and risk management tools necessary to smooth the path for U.S. energy production, diversification and grid expansion in a time of rapidly increasing power demand. ElectronX is a venture capital-backed startup supported by premier VC partners including Innovation Endeavors, Systemiq Capital, Equinor Ventures, Shell Ventures LLC, DCVC, Amplo, BoxGroup and Lightning Capital. Who are we looking for? As a fast-growing company in the highly competitive, quantitative capital markets industry, ElectronX values candidates who are resourceful, curious and adaptable to change. Our cultural focus on innovation requires collaborative and entrepreneurial teammates with the intellectual grit necessary for near- and long-term success. What will you be doing? The Chief of Staff to the CEO is a unique opportunity for a high-potential early-career professional to sit at the center of a fast-moving, venture-backed startup. This role is designed for someone who is deeply organized, intellectually curious, and energized by doing the work—not directing it. You’ll attend meetings, synthesize what matters, take on first conversations with external parties, and make sure priorities don’t slip. You will be obsessed with the growth of ElectronX, and willing to roll up your sleeves to contribute to it in whatever form that takes on a given day. This role is designed for someone 2-4 years out of a top graduate MBA program (or a standout recent undergraduate from a leading institution) with early professional experience in management consulting, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, high-frequency trading, or a similarly rigorous environment. Support the CEO’s Agenda Attend internal and external meetings alongside the CEO—strategy sessions, investor conversations, commercial discussions, and partner calls—and ensure clear follow-through on decisions and next steps Keep the CEO organized and focused on the highest-priority work; track open items, flag what needs attention, and help shift course quickly when priorities change Prepare briefings, meeting prep materials, and follow-up summaries that are clear, accurate, and ready to act on Manage Key Relationships on Behalf of the Key Follow up directly with high-impact partners, exchange participants, and key stakeholders on behalf of the CEO Synthesize those conversations and bring clear, well-organized recommendations forward for the CEO’s consideration Grow into a role where you take first meetings and represent ElectronX independently with prospective partners, investors, and collaborators on opportunistic and exploratory fronts Drive Cross-Functional Follow-Through Coordinate between the CEO and the broader leadership team to ensure accountability on key initiatives Track project progress, surface blockers early, and help keep the organization moving efficiently across workstreams Do the Work Write memos, prepare presentations, and develop materials that reflect the company’s strategic direction with precision and clarity Take on a wide variety of tasks as they arise—this role requires no ego and a genuine willingness to contribute at every level Benefits Health, vision and dental insurance 401K Supplemental health and disability insurance Unlimited vacation Equal Opportunity Statement: ElectronX is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, non-disqualifying physical or mental disability, national origin, veteran status, or any other basis covered by appropriate law. All employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
