This position reports directly to Inovata Foods’ Maintenance Manager and will have a high level of collaboration with Quality Assurance, Production, and Engineering.
Inovata Foods Corp.is looking for a Chief Operating Engineer to partner with us as we bring families and friends together through offering wholesome and convenient meals. The role is located in our Tillsonburg, Ontario facility. Inovata Foods Corp. is a major producer of wholesome control brand frozen meals for many of North America’s largest retailers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years’ experience working in maintenance.
  • 5+ years’ experience having direct reports or being a team leader.
  • Class 2 Required or Class 3 with A Refrigeration
  • Post-secondary education in related field.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing is a nice to have.
  • Experience managing timelines and projects with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise and develop Operating Engineers.
  • Manage maintenance and operating safety and regulatory requirements associated with TSSA regulated equipment with production and maintenance teams.
  • Lead root cause investigations on issues resulting in lost time.
  • Develop project costs for capital projects and provide project leadership as required.
  • Oversee Boiler and Refrigeration Plant operation.
  • Provide liaison with TSSA on any issues, regulatory changes and corporate requirements and keeps Facility Leadership informed as appropriate.
  • Report unsafe conditions and suggest resolution.
  • Provide communication to team members.
  • Drive adherence and improvements to always housekeeping standards for the Area.
  • Establish and maintenance of facility-related maintenance.
  • Perform necessary time approval, vacation coordination and performance evaluations for team and support their professional development.
  • Determine and coordinate technical training for team members.
  • Responsible for any disciplinary actions for team members
  • Maintain employee files for all personnel.
  • Active member of the Facility Leadership team
  • Actively demonstrate Safety as a value through active leadership, positive influence of mindsets and by identifying and addressing risks to prevent loss to our people, processes, and materials, while ensuring compliance with OHSA for Ontario regulations, corporate policies, and plant guideline
