Description

SUMMARY: Responsible for enhancing the organization’s internal processes and infrastructure that will allow the hospice to continue to grow and fulfill its mission. Supports the work of the CEO focusing on the establishment and optimization of day-to-day operations. Review on an ongoing basis services being offered; and develop new programs as needs emerge.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. MBA or similar advanced degree and at least 10 years of professional experience overall with experience supervising seasoned staff operating multiple programs, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading diverse work teams, developing an organization-wide strategy for program excellence, and partnering with the CEO.
  3. Demonstrated ability in fiscal and business management preferable in health care and/or not-for-profit setting.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare policies and reimbursement practices.
  5. Demonstrated excellence in both written and oral communications.
  6. Current California driver’s license with proof of insurance preferred.
    DEGREE OF TRAVEL: Moderate: may need to conduct site visits of the agency’s various business entities. Attendance at various seminars, conferences and workshops may be required from time to time.
    DEGREE OF DISRUPTION TO ROUTINE, OVERTIME: Moderate degree of disruption to routine. Flexible work hours required relative to agency need.
    SAFETY HAZARDS IN JOB: Moderate eye/ear strain from computer screen/ noise; repetitive motion strain from working on computer.

    Pay: $225,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure that all program activities operate consistently and ethically within the mission and values of the agency.
  2. Provide effective and inspiring leadership, as well as stewardship, by being actively involved in all programs and services. Promote regular and ongoing opportunities for all staff to give feedback on program operations.
  3. Lead a high performing team of department directors to the next level by further developing and implementing recruitment, training, and retention strategies.
  4. Partner with the CEO to represent the agency with external constituency groups, including community, governmental, and private organizations.
