JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a member of the Senior Management Team. The position requires maintaining working relationships the FACE Board of Directors, leading management, consultants, vendors, financial institutions, partners, other public and private sector institutions, and committee volunteers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • MBA / University degree / similar qualification or minimum of ten (10) years equivalent experience in Banking and Finance required
  • Minimum of two (2) years leading teams in Senior / Middle Management in the Banking and Finance or Non-Profit industries required
  • At least three (3) years of experience in business/commercial lending required
  • Ability to travel locally, regionally or internationally up to 50% of the time required
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $93.75 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 per week

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the organization’s Mission, Vision and Values remain relevant.
  • Create and implement strategies that deliver on the organization’s Mission and Vision.
  • Craft, enhance, approve, and execute the organization’s Structure, Strategic Plans, Policies, Procedures and Objectives.
  • Recruit, Manage, Evaluate and Lead Senior, Middle and Lower Management and teams.
  • Approve, Coordinate and Delegate through Middle Management, Lending Guidelines, Promotional Campaigns, Portfolio Quality Management, Risk & Delinquency Management, Administration, Finance, Internal Operations and Controls and Functions that operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Work with senior teams to implement annual Executive-level and Departmental work plans to ensure FACE is on track to meet its goals as articulated its strategic plans.
  • Develop and implement internal benchmarks, internal controls and establish processes for staff evaluations, reporting and development plans.
  • Lead the senior management team in creating an organizational staffing growth and succession planning that provides internal infrastructure and ensures capacity to succeed with programs and goals.
  • Lead the performance management process with executive team to ensure all systems and operations are functioning efficiently and effectively to meet growth and performance goals.
  • Deliver on the goals of the Black Entrepreneurship Loan Fund (BELF) strategic three-year plan.
  • Implement new processes and approaches to deepen and grow core business lines, broaden and expand services and strengthen internal capacity.
  • Provide strategic direction to senior management and leader of the BELF in balancing internal stakeholders to ensure efficient execution of the Business Plan and Capital Deployment.
  • Lead coordination of materials and the drafting of quarterly board books and assist with presentations to and at Board meetings.
  • Communicate with the Board of Directors, Committees and Consultants in coordination with the CEO.
  • Communicate the brand and key messages internally and externally.
  • Identify geographic penetration opportunities and priorities.
  • Seek opportunities to minimise revenue leakage and grow revenue, especially fee-for-service contacts.
  • Ensure that all operational policies and practices are adhered to by all staff; supporting CEO in developing new ones as needed including ones affecting authority levels.
  • Support Human Resource Management.
  • Represent FACE to partners and stakeholders as needed.
  • Provide a strong day-to-day leadership presence and support an open-door policy for all staff members.
  • Ensure optimal technology for the organization for maximum functionality and efficiency, including efforts to streamline internal data systems across departments.
  • Work with management teams to execute a highly effective project management process.
  • Ensure that key impact measurements are in place and utilized to make mission delivery improvements.
