SUMMARY

At Magnolia, the Chief People Officer (CPO) will serve as the senior executive leader responsible for architecting the company’s people strategy, leadership development, and organizational design. The CPO partners with the President, CFO, and VP of People and Culture to evolve Magnolia’s people practices to support growth, alignment, and sustainability. This role leads the design of executive coaching, leadership frameworks, succession planning, and cultural initiatives that reinforce Magnolia’s mission and values. The CPO will be a thought partner to the leadership team, ensuring scalable people systems, healthy culture, and long-term workforce planning. This position is based at Magnolia Headquarters in Waco, Texas, with regular facilitation of in-person executive sessions. It reports to the President and has supervisory responsibilities.

ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in business, organizational psychology, or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in HR, organizational development, or executive leadership, including C-level partnership.
  • Demonstrated experience in executive coaching, leadership development, and organizational design.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen with experience in workforce and cost modeling.
  • Proven track record in culture-building and scaling people systems in complex organizations.

Responsibilities
  • Build an internal executive development program with milestones, 360 reviews, and stretch assignments and lead 1:1 executive coaching for C-level leaders*
  • Act as a trusted thought partner to the President and senior leadership, influencing organizational direction and people strategy*
  • Facilitate strategic leadership alignment sessions and design leadership offsites
  • Oversee development and implementation of succession planning and leadership development frameworks reinforcing shared culture values, ensuring leadership bench strength*
  • Oversee development and implementation of a holistic management training program for all levels of leadership
  • Partner with the CFO to model and optimize long-term people costs and workforce modeling, balancing payroll with margin expectations*
  • Partner with the VP of People and Culture and the President to lead organizational design efforts
  • Collaborate on frameworks for talent calibration, change communication, and team transitions
  • Champion initiatives that sustain a healthy, inclusive, and scalable culture during growth and change
  • Lead the design and execution of monthly in-person executive summits and “connect-the-dots” weeks that reinforce alignment and shared purpose
  • Develop future People leadership and provide vision for the People Team, ensuring alignment between strategic goals and daily execution
  • Serve as a visible leader reinforcing Magnolia’s commitment to people-first culture and long-term talent sustainability
