Responsibilities

Ambulance Victoria is currently seeking a suitably experienced Senior Risk leader for the position of Chief Risk Officer.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Enterprise Services, this key leadership position will deliver a high level of strategic leadership and direction to drive AV’s risk management operations.

With an ability to provide strategic authoritative counsel and lead risk management operations and activities to ensure AV maintains an overall risk aware culture, this position will be critical to:

  • Strategically developing and delivering a vision for risk management which supports AV to achieve organisation goals and objectives whilst appropriately identifying and actively managing current, emerging and future risks
  • Provision of specialist advice and counsel to Board, Executive and Committees, on current and emerging risks, risk governance, compliance and risk management, ensuring informed decisions can be made
  • Overseeing the development and management of frameworks and policy to manage risks whilst measuring the effectiveness od strategic objectives
  • Driving strategic thinking and continuous improvement and capability uplift to ensure consistency in compliance, assessment and management of risk
  • Providing open and effective leadership to build a high performance, collaborative culture the fosters high performance, efficiency, continuous improvement and development
  • Leading and contributing to a safe, lawful, and respectful workplace culture through the modelling of ethical behaviours consistent with AV values (CARE)
