Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Chief SLCM-N Weapon System Engineer to support a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system design and . This role is ideal for a seasoned technical leader with deep expertise in systems engineering, integration, and testing particularly in support of the SLCM-N missile system.
The successful candidate will provide technical direction and oversight across the lifecycle of engineering and integration support activities, ensuring performance, safety, and reliability standards are met. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, along with a thorough understanding of Navy and DoD program management processes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • DoD clearance required: Secret - TS/SCI
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or technical discipline
  • 15+years of experience in a technical leadership role
  • Strong background in systems engineering, integration, and testing
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams
  • In-depth knowledge of the SLCM-N missile system (Nuclear Tomahawks)
  • Experience supporting Virginia Program Office PMS 450 or 425
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with Navy and DoD program management processes

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Engineering or a STEM-related field
  • Previous experience in the defense industry, especially in tactical weapon systems development and sustainment
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering tools
  • Certifications such as Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or Certified Integration Specialist (CIS)
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical direction and oversight for ZPS’s systems engineering and integration support to the SSP program office
  • Lead development and implementation of engineering processes to ensure the SLCM-N missile system meets performance, safety, and reliability requirements
  • Ensure consistent application of engineering and integration processes across all SLCM-N activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including program management, engineering, test, and logistics to coordinate technical activities
  • Participate in program reviews, risk assessments, and provide technical support to the SSP Program Office
  • Ensure compliance with Navy and DoD regulations, standards, and certification requirements (e.g., safety, security, export control)
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of engineering services
