REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field.
Minimum of five (5) years experience in related field.
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), CompTIA Network+, Security+ or similar certifications are preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects.

EDUCATION/TRAINING

Maintains all licenses and certifications.

Responsibilities

OVERALL PURPOSE

To ensure that sound Technology programs are integrated throughout the school system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides overall leadership and direction to the Technology Department.
  • Oversees the strategic direction of the district’s instructional technology approach.
  • Responsible for the creation and implementation of network cybersecurity and disaster recovery (DR) plans for the system.
  • Implements industry standard protocols for network and data security.
  • Directs and ensures the implementation of all tasks related to technical infrastructure, including the selection, purchasing, installation, and maintenance.
  • Oversees the establishment and maintenance of systems and tools for gathering, integrating and reporting data in usable and meaningful ways.
  • Manages Student Information System (SIS), and other administrative software systems across the system.
  • Ensures that all state and federal reporting requirements are met (data governance) with accurate and timely submissions.
  • Responsible for planning and creating multiple technology budgets for the system. This includes the M & O budget for the department as well as the ELOST budget for ITS.
  • Directs and coordinates the use of email and communication systems.
  • Directs and manages the implementation of voice systems on the network.
  • Responsible for network data storage and the backup of such data with industry standard practices.
  • Works with other departments and system leadership to implement technology across systems and provide guidance to industry standards.
  • Ensures that technology support is provided across systems in a timely and responsive manner.
  • Manages all aspects of the district’s ESMART Chromebook initiative. This includes procurement, repair and disposal.
  • Performs all other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
