QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent and seven (7) years of experience in a water treatment facility, including four (4) years of experience at a facility with the equivalent classification of the NW Water Treatment Plant; OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. Associate’s degree in the field of natural sciences highly preferred.

• Valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver License required.
• Possession of North Carolina Grade A Surface Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification (or other state equivalent) is required.
• Grade I Maintenance Technologist Certification issued by the NC-AWWA, or ability to obtain within one year from date of hire.
• Bacteriological Certification and/or a Physical/Chemical Grade I Certification issued by the State of North Carolina, or ability to obtain within one year from date of hire.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be physically able to operate personal computers, related office equipment, and motor vehicle. Physical demand requirements are for Medium Work.
