Your part in our UnitingCare team The Intensive Family Support Service assists complex, vulnerable families who are at risk of entering the Child Protection system. We are a voluntary service who visits families in their homes approximately once a week for up to 12 months, enabling us to work together to keep children safe and achieve family goals. The Child and Family Case Worker will lead case management with families in a fast paced, high volume work environment to identify and prioritise their concerns. This role involves: Providing a mix of therapeutic and in-home practical care to support complex, vulnerable and often hard to reach families. Actively engage, assess and develop collaborative case plans to ensure we are prioritising the families' presenting concerns in turn preparing them to be referred to specialist support services. What makes a difference for us? Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field i.e. Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Humans Services A minimum of 2 years’ experience in case management and child protection - working directly with families, children, young people with complex needs. A current knowledge and understanding of Domestic Family Violence and the impact on children. An understanding of First Nations peoples, cultures and society, and the issues which impact them. A commitment to culturally safe practice. A sound knowledge and understanding in Attachment Theory, Trauma-informed practice, and Child Development. Current QLD working with children check (Blue Card). Current open QLD drivers’ licence. Eligibility to work in Australia. What makes a difference for you?
