***$3,500 SIGN ON BONUS*** Job Title Child and Family Therapist (CFT) Reports to Director of Behavioral Health Status Exempt (Salaried $65,000 - $92,000)     JOB PURPOSE As a Child and Family Therapist at Heartland Community Health Center, you will serve as a crucial provider in delivering specialized therapeutic services to children and adolescents. Working within a collaborative and interdisciplinary framework, you will contribute to holistic care, emphasizing emotional well-being, developmental support, and mental health resilience. Your role will encompass utilizing play-based interventions to address a variety of concerns, supporting children's emotional regulation, social skills, and overall psychological health. Plus, we provide access to two Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) to support your well-being.   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Facilitate play therapy sessions with children to address and treat emotional, developmental, and behavioral concerns, using play as a primary communication and intervention tool. * Document therapy sessions, treatment plans, progress notes, and outcomes in accordance with ethical standards and legal regulations, ensuring all records are accurate and timely. * Provide guidance and support to children and their families, educating them on the therapeutic process, coping strategies, and how to reinforce therapeutic progress at home, fostering an active role in their child's emotional and developmental health. * Encourage proactive mental health and emotional well-being through regular sessions, developmental screenings, and educational resources to help prevent future emotional and behavioral issues. * Address and validate the emotional and psychological concerns of children and their families, promoting understanding and offering strategies to manage and overcome challenges. * Work closely with a team of professionals, including teachers, pediatricians, licensed clinical social workers, and mental health specialists, to provide integrated and holistic care for children. * Advocate for the mental health needs of children in the community, striving to address disparities and improve access to therapeutic services for underserved populations. * Record detailed notes on clients' histories, play activities, and therapeutic interventions, ensuring compliance with professional guidelines and maintaining the integrity of the therapeutic process. * Promote practices and policies that enhance the mental and emotional well-being of children, actively contributing to community health improvement efforts. * Be available for on-call coverage to address urgent needs or crises, offering timely support and intervention as necessary. * Engage in professional development and quality assurance activities to ensure high standards of care, including regular supervision, training, and participation in value-based care programs. * Provide leadership and mentorship within the therapeutic team, guiding best practices, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and supporting the professional growth of colleagues. * Adhere to professional and legal standards, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, ensuring the confidentiality and protection of client information.         QUALIFICATIONS * LCPC, LCSCW, or LCMFT * Valid license to practice in Kansas. * Active Basic Life Support Certification. * Valid Mental Health First Aid Certification (completed upon hire). * Previous experience in a community health setting is preferred but not required.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Moves equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. * Moves throughout the building to meet with employees, patients, or visitors. * Must be able to remain in a stationary position during shift. * Ability to read, write, and speak English. * Frequent communication with patients about their experience at the health center. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. * Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as tablets, scanners, printers, and phones. * Adhere to process protocol or procedures.   DETAILS * Schedule: Full-time non-exempt (hourly). * Hours Mon-Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM (as needed) (average 32 clinic hours/week) * Hours Saturday 8:00AM – 12:00PM (if applicable) * Shifts are typically 8 hours.   * Location: Heartland at Panda Pediatrics (1803 W. 6th Street)
Responsibilities
The therapist will facilitate play therapy sessions for children addressing emotional, developmental, and behavioral concerns, while also documenting all sessions and treatment plans accurately. Responsibilities include educating families on therapeutic processes, providing guidance, and working closely with an interdisciplinary team to offer integrated care.
