We are seeking highly skilled and experienced professionals with a background in supporting children and youth who may face physical or behavioural impairments. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in Child and Youth Worker, Community and Justice Services, Social Services, or a related field (or currently enrolled).
  • Valid CPR and First Aid Certification (required)
  • Certification in Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviour (UMAB) Required
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check or Broad Record Check (completed within the last 6 months) Required
  • Child Welfare Check (Required).
  • Valid G2 or G Driver’s License (required).
  • Personal reliable vehicle (Required)
  • Flexibility to drive to different locations as needed.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts (Required).

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

As a Child and Youth Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and youth with diverse needs, including those with physical or behavioural challenges. You will provide direct care, implement intervention strategies, and create opportunities for personal development, ensuring each individual feels valued and empowered.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide individualized direct support to children and youth with developmental disabilities and/or behavioural crises and complex needs.
  • Support clients in various settings, including live-in treatment, residential care homes, family or foster homes, schools, hospitals, and the community.
  • Monitor, document, and maintain daily shift logs, incident reports, medication charts, and other required documentation.
  • Assist with meal preparation and promote proper nutrition for children and youth in care.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
  • Administer medications and complete Medication Logs accurately.
  • Transport clients to and from appointments and community outings.
  • Support daily hygiene routines and household chores.
  • Build and maintain positive, professional working relationships with clients, families, and team members.
  • Travel between various work sites as needed to provide services.
