About the Role Under the direction of the Child & Youth Services Manager, the Team Leader is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality and individualised support to young people under Guardianship of the Minister housed within Child and Youth Services. The position is an integral role and, in conjunction with the Children Service Manager formulating innovative processes to ensure positive outcomes. Key Responsibilities • Supervise the day-to-day activities of site Practice Leads and support and coordinate staff within all houses. • Promote a ‘risk-aware culture’ where staff pro-actively identify and address all forms of risk. • Implement, monitor, and assess plans to ensure better outcomes for clients and service sustainability. • Develops and maintains effective stakeholder relationships. • Participate in recruitment processes within the portfolio to attract and retain quality staff. • Ensure that rosters are filled in line with established budgets. • Support and encourage staff to attain high levels of expertise and maximise their potential through targeted training and professional development. • Assist the Manager to deliver services that are in line with the requirements of funding body services that are in line with the requirements of funding body service agreements and within CLO policies, principles, practices and procedures. • Leads, guides, and educates staff in effective reporting, documenting, and administration. To be Successful • You will possess an in-depth knowledge of professional and technical aspects of the role, including service delivery, plan and program development. • Demonstrate ability to apply knowledge of the Child Protections Act and mainstream service interfaces to achieve improved service outcomes for children. • Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of children and young people particularly regarding developmental stages, vulnerability, and resilience. • Ability to engage in high quality communication processes which facilitate clarification, negotiation, and mediation. • You will have excellent customer service skills with a proven ability to respond positively and proactively. • Demonstrate planning and measuring skills. • Previous experience leading teams. • Ability to problem solve and take initiatives. Qualifications and Essential Licences Current Driver's Licence Working with Children's Check or willing to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check or willing to obtain First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate (HLTAID003 & HLTAID001) Tertiary Qualification in Child Youth & Family Intervention, Disability, Social Work, Behavioural Science, Psychology, or similar/equivalent (Cert IV or Higher) Must satisfy all Visa requirements to work in Australia The Offer Joining CLO means joining a supportive, inclusive team where your expertise is valued.
