THERAPEUTIC RESPITE HOME/GROUP HOME

Evolving Youth Care Inc is always seeking motivated and energetic Child and Youth Workers, Developmental Service Workers and Personal Support Worker’s alike. In addition to our Therapeutic Group Homes, Evolving Youth Care Inc. has developed a therapeutic respite program which aims to fill a critical gap in services in the east region for families in need of out-of-home respite services. Clients are accepted through a referral process which identifies needs and establishes goals.
As a member of the Evolving Youth Care team you will provide frontline services to children and youth who may require support in remaining safe in the community, may present with verbal or physical aggression, may require support in establishing hygiene routines as well as support in developing a daily regime which is conducive to a healthy lifestyle.
You will work closely with our clinical team including our Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. There will be an expectation of you to follow daily routines with consistency while maintaining a strict daily tracking to ensure we are able to assess goals and measures.
Hours: 8am-4pm, 4pm-11pm, 11pm-8am
Days: Requirement to be available Week days and Weekends on a rotating schedule
Evolving Youth Care is looking for team members who demonstrate positive leadership skills and know how to set and maintain professional boundaries with clients. This position will include taking responsibility for the youths’ safety and security, assisting clients with basic hygiene, emotional support, and day to day needs and activities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Ideally, you possess a high school diploma along with one of the following:
-Early Childhood Education (ECE)
- Developmental Services Worker (DSW) diploma
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) diploma
- Child and Youth Care Worker (CCW/CYW/CYC) diploma
- Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma
- Community Justice Worker (CJW)
Similar education and experience working in Social Services will also be considered.
- Experience working with individuals with special needs
- Experience with personal care such as basic hygiene

• Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
• Child Welfare Check
• Valid G Driver’s License (required)
• Driver’s Abstract
• Personal Vehicle (required)
• Car insurance
• Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and/or First Aid will be considered an asset.

  Pay: $20.00 -$22.00per hour
