Overview Join our child care team at locally owned and operated Expressive Beginnings Child Care as a Center Director at our Webster Campus. Expressive Beginnings is seeking a warm and caring person who is passionate about working with young children. The center director is also responsible for the general supervision and management of the entire child care center. As the director, this person will directly supervise the assistant directors, lead teachers, and administrative staff. This person will also interact with parents, and be responsible for maintaining a culturally humble, high quality, family-oriented climate throughout the center. The center director will be expected to have a keen understanding of the Regio Emilia approach and will be responsible for facilitating and overseeing curriculum through this inspiration. Pay rate for this position: $54,300 to $59,500. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Responsibilities Maintain positive, open communication, with all staff, children and families affiliated with the child care center. Make sure every classroom maintains high quality family-oriented educational experience consistent with inspiration from the Reggio Emilia Teaching Approach®. Keep the center in compliance with all New York state regulations. Maintain enrollment, schedule and provide tours for prospective families. Direct the recruitment, hiring and orientation of all new staff. Evaluate and coach development of staff through classroom observation and leadership. Work with Child Care Council and other organizations to ensure that all staff receives their required training. Experience with the Regio Emilia inspired curriculum. Demonstrate knowledge of NY state child care regulations and NAEYC child care standards. Strong employee relations and employee development experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills, and an outgoing personality. Preferred Masters or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with payroll systems and human resource procedures. Ability to learn new software applications quickly. Ability to multi-task and demonstrated focus on attention to detail.
