Ancora Light Respite is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Community Respite Worker (RW). This is a causal coverage position providing support on an as-needed basis to children with diverse abilities in a childcare community setting. You will work closely with educators to ensure children receive quality care, safety, and meaningful engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or degree in Child and Youth Work, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience supporting children with diverse abilities (experience in child care, classrooms, or special needs support preferred).
• Knowledge and practical application of ABA strategies.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Police & Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Medical documentation (as per Public Health requirements).

• Provide1:1 support to a child and/or classroom support in collaboration with Early Childhood Educators.
• Deliver individualized care and apply positive behaviour management techniques.
• Utilize ABA strategies effectively to support children’s needs.
• Engage children in activities that promote social interaction, learning, and skill development.
• Maintain accurate records and progress notes.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure consistency and high-quality support.
