Description Join our interdisciplinary team as a Child Care Provider, supporting families in substance use recovery by overseeing the daily care and development of children in treatment with their parents. This role oversees the daily activities and care of the children who are in treatment with their parent(s), working with the parents on parenting and healthy bonding in early recovery and collaborating with the clinical team. Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00PM Position Hourly -Nonexempt Responsibilities: Ensuring children are safe, nurturing and healthy, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment. Providing children’s basic needs such as changing diapers, helping with hygiene and supporting healthy eating. Supporting children’s physical, emotional, cognitive, and social-emotional development. Open communication with parents about children’s activities, behaviors, and needs. Planning, leading and guiding schedules and activities. Teaching children new skills and personal habits, such as eating, resting, and toilet habits. Maintaining records of children’s progress, interests, and issues that arise. Working with families in an individual and group setting covering topics such as parenting, developmental milestones, and new routines in a positive and encouraging manner. Ensure equipment and childcare areas are clean and well maintained. Ensure children are supervised at all times. Assess and report any concerns of abuse. Follow facility emergency procedures. Promotes inclusion through Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards. Assists with front desk or support staff coverage. Perform other duties as assigned. Who is Axiom Care? Chapter 7 Requirements Must be proficient in computer applications and electronic medical record systems Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Strong customer service skills. Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, internal clinical team and Social Services. Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations. Knowledge of substance use and the impact on families with children. Experience in working with diverse population and socioeconomic backgrounds. Experience with working with Native American population preferred. Qualification Requirements High school Diploma or GED. Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Child Care Provider. Current first Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of hire. Negative TB Test result within the last 12 months. Finger Print Clearance Card available upon hire. Relevant training and/or certification as a Child Care Provider. Core Competencies: Understand Substance Use Disorders – Understanding of how substance use impacts the family dynamic.
