Description

The Child Care Teacher will plan and implement a program of activities which will ensure each child’s personal safety while providing enrichment, physical challenges and learning experiences. The Child Care Teacher will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y, and the regulating agency. S/He will display and encourage the character traits of caring, responsibility, honesty and respect in the fulfillment of all job duties.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 21 years of age or have a high school diploma or equivalent AND meet EEC requirements for education and experience for Teacher.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
  • Evidence of physical examination within last 12 months.
  • Immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella.
  • Ability to create and sustain a culture of excellence and work and thrive as part of a cohesive team.
  • Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and clean when necessary.
  • Will sometimes work early morning, late nights and weekends.
  • Strong oral communication skills required for occasional public speaking responsibilities.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 75lbs on occasion and 40lbs frequently (children) and move intermittently during work hours.
  • Ability to thoroughly understand Y-USA’s three focus areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility; proven ability to identify and meet the needs of the health seeke

Responsibilities

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure maximum enrollment is achieved.
Assist with the Annual Campaign and other fund-raising events.
Adhere to all fiscal policies and procedures, such as purchase orders, employee expense forms, member balances and appropriate safekeeping of tuition payments.

FACILITY/HOUSEKEEPING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure a clean, organized, and safe program space.
Communicate to appropriate staff facility issues which need to be addressed in a timely manner.

VOLUNTEER/COMMITTEE/INTER-DIVISIONAL ASSIGNMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

Actively participate on assigned committees and with the Y’s Annual Campaign.
Promote Y programs through public appearances and presentations.
Attend at least 20 hours of childcare training annually.
