WE ARE SEEKING COMPASSIONATE, DRIVEN INDIVIDUALS TO JOIN OUR TEAM AS CHILD CONTACT & FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER, SUPPORTING CHILDREN AND FAMILIES DURING DIFFICULT TIMES.

Location: Voice of the Child Contact Centre. Reading, Berkshire. United Kingdom
Salary: £24.000 to £26.000 Per Annum/ Pro-Rata (Subject to Experience).

Hours: Full Time (37 to 40 hours per week)

  • Alternating weekly schedule: Monday–Friday one week, Wednesday–Sunday the next week.
  • Alternate weekend work required (with compensatory days off).
  • Flexibility for overtime when needed.

Start date: Immediate Start Required - September 2025

Voice of the Child is a UK-registered charity and a nationally accredited Child Contact Intervention and Family Support Centre. Based in Reading, we provide a safe, neutral, and supportive environment where children from separated families can spend meaningful time with parents or siblings they do not reside with.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Child Contact & Family Support Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe, secure, and neutral contact sessions for children and families. You will assess referrals, manage safeguarding risks, supervise contact sessions, and prepare detailed written reports.
This role involves collaborating with professionals, adhering to legislative guidelines, and contributing to the growth and smooth operation of the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide supervised and safe contact interventions for families in neutral environments.
  • Assess, review, and accept referrals while prioritising child-focused outcomes.
  • Conduct ongoing safeguarding risk assessments and implement risk management strategies.
  • Plan and prepare for family support interventions, including organizing activities and supervising contact sessions.
  • Record observations and prepare accurate, evidence-based reports for court or referral agencies.
  • Participate in professional meetings and contribute to decisions that impact children and families.
  • Support organizational operations, including administration, fundraising, social media and maintaining high cleaning standards in the centre.
  • Adhere to NACCC and legislative guidelines, safeguarding procedures, and court orders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes for children and families.
