Your part in our UnitingCare team Our Remote Area Families Service (RAFS) program is seeking a passionate and autonomous worker to join our Remote Area Child and Family Services Team, servicing Emerald and surrounding areas. In joining the team, you will be working alongside fellow RAFS workers located in Mt Isa, Charleville, Mareeba and Longreach. Your commitment to the role will explore the dynamics of working with our vulnerable clients in communities focusing on: Supporting early childhood development, parenting resilience and mobile services to communities. Develop and implement programs to strengthen family relationships, implement early intervention and prevention activities. Enhance and support increased First Nations/ Multicultural community participation and family functioning. Providing information, advice and referral pathways. Increase awareness of children’s wellbeing and adopt a holistic approach to supporting early childhood education, aligning with family and child support to nurture children and prepare them fully for learning and life. Understanding the role is predominantly delivered in remote locations and resulting in approximately 60% of work hours spent travelling and overnighting in communities. This is a unique opportunity to explore the rural and remote outback of Queensland while visiting children and families on stations, in communities, and learning about rural life and working with stakeholders who are committed to supporting families and children to reach their best outcomes.
