Overview Presbyterian is a seeking a Child Life Assistant an enthusiastic, dynamic, and self-motivated child life assistant to join our team. The Child Life Assistant will be responsible for managing the playroom, and facilitating interactions of children between peers, volunteers, and students in the playroom. This is a Full Time position - Exempt: No Job is based at Presbyterian Hospital Work hours: Days Ideal Candidate: If you have experience working with children, an associate degree in a related field, and current or pending BLS certification (college coursework preferred), this position is for you. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED with some coursework in Child Development (College Level Preferred). Associate degree in Child Development, Psychology, or related field preferred. Previous experience working with children. Current BLS certification (or certification within 90 days of hire) for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association. Responsibilities Create a safe, therapeutic playroom environment for patients, families, and staff. Set up, supervise, and clean developmentally appropriate activities. Maintain playroom supplies and manage incoming donations. Ensure toys and playroom are cleaned per hospital policies. Train and supervise volunteers; escalate concerns to the Child Life Manager. Coordinate bedside activities and support community group visits. Communicate patient observations to the healthcare team and report concerns. Monitor playroom usage, equipment needs, and maintain accurate records. Organize materials in compliance with safety standards. Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, cultural sensitivity, and reliability.
