POSITION: Children’s Nutrition Programs Coordinator SUPERVISOR: Children’s Nutrition Programs Manager STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt PAY RANGE: $23.00 - $26.00 Hourly The base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other factors. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The position of Children’s Nutrition Programs Coordinator will provide administrative and project support to the Children's Nutrition Programs Department. This position functions in an office environment and requires travel within the service area. It requires the use of general office equipment such as telephone, computers, calculators, fax, and copiers. WHAT YOU’LL DO Program Operations & Coordination: Direct support and execution of food programs and services. Coordinate the creation and delivery of monthly Food Kits and Produce Bags with Warehouse, Production, and Transportation Coordinators. Assist the Children’s Nutrition Department in the operation of the Children’s Breakfast Program, BackPack Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program, Summer Food Service Program, and Nutrition Education. Provide monitoring and administrative support for the CACFP and SFSP. Provide operational support to schools / agencies participating in programs Administrative and Organizational Support: Internal coordination, documentation, and general support tasks. Prepare and maintain agency files, documents, and reports. Schedule monthly meetings and maintain minutes. Assist with organizing special projects and events as assigned. Performs other such duties as assigned by the supervisor. Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based on business needs Outreach, Communication, and Field Support: External engagement, communication, and on-the-ground support. Create promotional flyers for community outreach to support partnering agencies. Perform community outreach to increase program participation. Organize and translate nutrition education handouts. Access to reliable transportation, required to travel within Los Angeles County. Able to lift 30 lbs on an intermittent basis   QUALIFICATIONS * GED or High School Diploma preferred, some college or vocational school desired * Ability to work with diverse ethnicities and cultures * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact with all levels of staff * Intermediate computer skills preferred (Microsoft Office), ability to prepare business correspondence and Excel spreadsheets * Superb organizational skills * Detail-oriented, self-starter who is able to work with minimum supervision * Able to work well as a team player and independently * Bilingual, Spanish/English (preferred) * Able to read, write, and translate English material to Spanish (preferred) * Possess a valid California Driver’s License and have access to a reliable, insured vehicle. Must be able to travel within Los Angeles County as required. Work assignments may include various facilities and hubs across Los Angeles County, including locations in Los Angeles and the City of Industry, CA.
