SUMMARY

As a 1:1 Support Worker at Cornerstone Nurseries, you will play a vital role in fostering a safe and stimulating environment one of our children who needs additional support and care. Your contributions will help us inspire and motivate every unique child to learn and develop at their own pace, reinforcing our commitment to mutual care and respect.
Working in collaboration with the nursery SENco, the successful applicant will need to professionally liaise with external agencies in order to provide the best care and support.
Your hours will be in line with the hours this child requires care at the setting which is 2 days a week, Monday and Friday 8am-6pm (1 hour unpaid lunch break)
This is currently a temporary position until September 2028 with a possibility of a permanent position thereafter.

• Provide compassionate support to children in various activities.
• Foster a safe and engaging learning environment.
• Assist in the implementation of educational programs based on EYFS principles.
• Encourage children’s exploration through play and outdoor activities.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality care.
• Monitor child’s progress and well-being.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, SEN and health professionals and other agencies
• Qualifications
• Experience in childcare or related fields is essential.
• Strong understanding of child development principles.
• First Aid certification is required but can be provided.
• Excellent communication skills with children and adults.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s growth.
• Any successful candidates will require a clear enhanced DBS check.
