POSITION DESCRIPTION: To provide a safe and fun environment for children in the YMCA Child Watch and Y-Zone. Shifts are staggered during the following days and times: Weekday Morning Shifts: Monday through Friday 8am-12:30pm Weekday Evening Shifts: Monday through Thursday 4pm-8:30pm, Fridays 4pm-7pm Weekend shifts: Saturdays 8am-12:30pm and Sundays 1pm-4pm DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Keep accurate attendance and enrollment records. Keep child watch area clean and equipment organized. Communicate regularly with parents. Interact individually with children. Adhere to and implement YMCA mission and philosophy. diaper children as necessary. Maintain supervision of all children at all times. Perform other duties as necessary. Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors and volunteers. Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Must be certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid. (Training provided by the Y, if needed) Must be 16 years old with experience in working with infants and children. Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written. Physical activities include heavy work involving body movement and physical application, reaching/lifting (5-50 pounds), Standing/walking, repetitive motions, physical motion/movement, bending, pushing/pulling, kneeling.
Responsibilities
The primary duties involve maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for children in the Child Watch and Y-Zone areas, which includes keeping accurate records and supervising all children at all times. Responsibilities also cover cleaning the area, organizing equipment, interacting with children individually, and communicating regularly with parents.
