Position: Child & Youth Coordinator
Type of Employment: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Responsible to: FLE Program Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
The Child and Youth Program Coordinator plays a key role in designing and delivering innovative, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate programming for children aged 6–12. This position supports the holistic growth of children - emotionally, socially, intellectually, and physically - while fostering strong relationships with families, schools, and community partners. The Coordinator works collaboratively with the Family Resource Centre (FRC) team to ensure programs are responsive to community needs and aligned with best practices in child development.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Required
· Diploma or degree in Human Services, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or a related field.
· Demonstrated knowledge of child development and family systems.
· Experience working with diverse populations, including culturally and socio-economically varied communities.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills; proficiency in written and verbal English.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
· Skilled in program planning, facilitation, and evaluation.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and database documentation.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Valid Police Information Check, Child Intervention Record Check, and First Aid certification.
· Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
OPERATIONAL & ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES
· Ensure all programs comply with Alberta Licensing Standards and organizational policies.
· Maintain confidentiality and adhere to PIPA and other relevant privacy legislation.
· Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
· Assist with general administrative tasks and facility upkeep as required.
