This position will report to the Supervisor, Child, Youth and work collaboratively with other members of the YMCA team to provide a safe and fun environment for our child, youth, and family programming and to provide a safe and welcoming experience in branch.  Major Responsibilities- in this position, you will: * Lead programs for children aged 0 to 12 years old in a positive and professional manner * Facilitate games and activities for various children’s programs to promote active and creative play * Build meaningful relationships with children, parents, YMCA members, visitors, and colleagues * Navigate challenging conflict situations using YMCA standards and procedures * Ensure program design, lay-out, and offerings meet the needs of all participants at various levels * Lead program delivery, while ensuring contents meet the appropriate criteria and outline * Strong work ethic and able to remain flexible  * Perform general administrative duties and record keeping responsibilities * Ensure the safety of all members, participants, staff, and property by following YMCA policies and ensuring they are maintained among all members and staff * Assist with training new staff/volunteers in procedures and practices * Provide exemplary customer service to all members, guests and participants in all program areas by providing facility tours and education on current program offerings relevant to the member/family Qualification-you bring: * Current Standard First Aid certificate with CPR level C & AED (valid within 2 years) * Experience working with children - preferred * Demonstrated high level of customer service skills * Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references  * Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.  Canada Summer Jobs Criteria 1.
