TEMPORARY POSITION

21 hours/week (potential for increased hours)
As the Child and Youth Counsellor, you will provide comprehensive evidence-based services for children and youth under the age of 19, and their parents and caregivers, residing in Kaslo and area. You will work closely with members of the counselling team, referring agencies and community partners. Clinical supervision will be provided.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A master’s degree in social work, Counselling or a related field.
  • Able to be registered or licensed with an appropriate provincial body such as Registered Social Worker, Registered Clinical Counsellor, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and Experience in assessment and treatment of children and youth who experience moderate to severe mental, emotional and behavioural problems.
  • Demonstrated experience providing individual, group, and family, psycho-educational and brief therapy.
  • A client centred approach is necessary and therapeutic experience including expressive therapy is desired.
  • Demonstrated consultation and liaison skills with external agencies.
  • Driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
