Job Title: Daycare Center Director, Little Harbor Academy
Position Type: Full-Time, Leadership Role
Location: 1609 West Howard Street, Chicago, Illinois 60626
Reports To: Executive Director, Chicago Refugee Coalition

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Daycare Center Director to lead Little Harbor Academy’s operations and educational programming. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in early childhood education, strong leadership skills, and a deep commitment to serving diverse communities, particularly refugee families. This role requires someone who can build and manage a center from the ground up while maintaining the highest standards of care and education.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in early childhood education with 3+ years in leadership roles
  • Valid Illinois Director’s Credential or the ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Experience with HighScope curriculum preferred
  • Knowledge of DCFS licensing requirements and CCAP programs
  • Strong understanding of child development principles (ages 0-5)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Experience working with refugee, immigrant, or multicultural communities
  • Bilingual capabilities (Arabic, Spanish, or other languages common among refugee populations)
  • Experience with STEAM curriculum implementation
  • Grant writing and fundraising experience

  • Visual and auditory skills are necessary for supervision
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $56,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
