  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Knowledge of nutrition for young children
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Full working rights in Australia

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a dedicated and organised Childcare Cook to prepare healthy, well-balanced meals and snacks for children aged 0–6 years, in line with dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural needs. You will play an important role in maintaining our high standards for nutrition, hygiene, and food safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and prepare nutritious morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea for children each day
  • Cater for individual dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural needs
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen in line with food safety standards
  • Order and manage stock, minimising waste
  • Maintain accurate records of menus, temperatures, and cleaning schedules
  • Work closely with educators to ensure mealtimes are positive and enjoyable for children
  • Comply with all relevant regulations, including the National Quality Framework and Food Safety Guidelines
