SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with Practical Food Hygiene
  • Previous exposure to food preparation, particularly for children
  • The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team
  • Valid WWCC & police check
  • Food Handling certificate.
  • Food Safety Supervisor certificate preferred.
  • First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma certificate (or willing to obtain).
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Childcare Centre Manager, you will be working in our Avondale Heights Childcare Centre. Supporting our Childcare Centre, you will use your exceptional Food Safety and Hygiene knowledge while preparing nutritious meals for our children. This will include menu planning, meal preparation, kitchen maintenance, cleanliness, food ordering, and adhering to dietary requirements and allergies.

KEY DUTIES

  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks for children in the childcare centre
  • Plan weekly menus in accordance with dietary guidelines and children’s allergies
  • Collaborate with the Childcare Centre Manager for food orders and procure additional goods as necessary
  • Ensure proper storage of all food items, maintaining freshness and quality
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, including regular cleaning and sanitising
  • Conduct kitchen maintenance checks and ensure all equipment is in good working order
