Childcare Educator – Edmondson Park
First Connections Childcare Centre is seeking a dedicated room assistant at our brand-new, state-of-the-art service in Edmondson Park, Sydney.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Working with Children Check
  • First Aid in a Childcare Setting certificate.
  • Asthma & Anaphylaxis Management certification

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead educators in planning and implementing age-appropriate learning experiences and activities for children.
  • Ensure the safety, well-being, and hygiene of all children in the room.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other staff members to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play activities, meals, and rest periods.
  • Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development through positive interactions and guidance.
  • Assist with record-keeping, including attendance, observations, and developmental assessments.
  • Follow all policies and procedures related to health, safety, and child protection.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and families, providing updates on children’s progress and well-being.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Room Leader or Centre Director.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.
  • Valid NSW Working with Children Check.
  • Current First Aid in a childcare setting with Asthma & Anaphylaxis.
  • Understanding of the Education and Care Services Regulations, National Quality Standard (NQS), and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in planning and implementing learning experiences for children.
  • At least 3 years experience in the childcare industry
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively under supervision.
  • Passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
